Quiz Night
July 2022
40 People got their little grey cells working in our fiendishly impossible quiz night. Everyone tucked into a meal of fish and chips or pie and chips along with a selection of puddings. Congratulations to the Badmington Girls who won by a healthy margin.
United Service
Ulverscroft Priory
21 August 2022
The sun was shining and all denominations from Markfield were represented at the annual united service held in the ancient ruins of Ulverscroft Priory. A setting for a very moving and spiritually uplifting service. Well done to Rev Andrew of the Anglican Church for organising this years event.

Table Top Sale

Our Table Top Sale was a great success with a number of people renting tables for various charities. The Church table raised £95. A big shout out for Rose Blayney. Rose has raised thousands of pounds for the Help for Heros charity. Funds going to help our proud military veterans.

International Congregationalism: Brasil
We were delighted to host the Reverand Gabriel Simplice and his wife Jessica to lead our service in May. After an exchange of UK Congregational members to Brazil who visited Rev Gabriel's Churches in Patos and Joao Pessoa to see at first hand the work they were carrying out, feeding the homeless and needy, taking care of street children.
We thank God for him and his congregations mission work.
Rev Gabriel attended our National Assembly in Nottingham and we were fortunate to have him preach at our Sunday Service.

40 Years Of Ecumenicism

A recent special event was held in our church.
As there is no Roman Catholic Church In Markfield Catholics have been using our church to celebrate Mass. In May we celebrated the 40th aniversary of our ecumenical relationship.
On behalf of the church our Minister, Rev Rob presented Father Gabriel with a statue of the Virgin Mary to adorne their service.
Rev Rob stated that although there may be differences in theology and doctrine we are united in the love of Christ. Though we are many we are one body, the body of Christ.
Father Gabriel was clearly moved by the gift which came as a complete surprise to him and the congregation, stating that it was a very thoughtful gift considering how much Mary means to the Catholic faith.
After the mass there was a celebration with refreshments, samosas and cake.

Traditional Tea Afternoon
August 2025
We hosted a traditional tea afternoon and Bingo session.
Sandwiches, cakes and scones were the flavour of the day.
tea and coffee was drunk by the gallon.
The best part was all proceedes went to Breat Cancer Not, a charity involved in research, treatmemt and care of of people with breast cancer.
A sum of £465 was raised for the charity. Not bad for a two hour session.
